The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) which replaced the No Child Left Behind act, requires every school to make available to the public information about school accountability, teacher qualifications, state testing, and student achievement. The ESSA Dashboard from the Maine Department of Education can be found below and contains this information.
The Maine Academy of Natural Sciences tests all students in grades 9-12 using state testing. The data collected from these tests helps to inform our teaching practices and school policies. We highly encourage all students to participate, however guardians are allowed to opt their student out of testing. If you wish to do so, please reach out to the head of school, Matt Newberg, for information on this process.
